I had a great location shoot with Dixie down at the beach recently. I mostly used the Fuji XT-1 and 56mm 1.2, occasionally the 35mm 1.4 as well. The only issues were backlighting making focussing a little tricky at times, I did find the 56mm much better close up and the 35mm superior further away. Another thing I found very pleasing was the dynamic range on the files, as a was shooting in RAW on the XT-1 for the first time. I was able to pull a lot of detail back from the highlights. Next time I’ll try using some fill flash, but I didn’t have much time to mess around with it on this shoot and the light was lovely anyway so I can put up with some blown highlights.
