I had the pleasure of shooting a Christening at the weekend. The little boy in question had chicken pox so a private service was arranged for him in a side chapel ahead of the main service on Sunday. From my point of view this greatly restricted my options for shooting as there was very little room. There was also very little light so I just hovered around the doorway shooting with the 70-200 on the D800. I did also take some shots with the Fuji Xe-2. For the fuji lovers here is a small selection of the shots from the service and the reception taken with the XE-2. It performed really well and I just wish I’d used it a bit more, the 55-200 is pretty useful as you can drop the shutter speed so low, but these were all taken with the 35mm 1.4.
Next up, the D800 shots. I’m still getting used to using this at events, so I was not that happy with how I did here, also I really missed having a wider angle lens, so a 24-70 or 50mm 1.4 is on the Christmas wish list.
